Attention for Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi users. The manufacturer has started rolling out a new software update Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb for the Xoom tablets. A changelog hasn’t been provided by Moto just yet, but the 1.5MB OTA update and word from Xoom Wi-Fi users suggests this is a simple maintenance release and most of the users haven’t noticed anything different so far. This post will be updated once we know what’s new. The new firmware update brings the build number HTK55D. There is no word on if and when carrier-locked versions or 3G version will have their go. It’s yet unclear in which regions the update is available.
Update: According to the folks over XDA forums, this latest firmware update is some kind of bootloader maintenance update, so rooted users should be careful before trying to upgrade with this update..

Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi users will be seeing notification alerts popping up on their screen panels regarding the new software update. You can also check on the update as always through your Menu –> Settings –> About Tablet –> System Updates –> and tap Install Now button –> Reboot. This process should initiate the latest software upgrade process of Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb update, and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the update process in approximately in 10 to 15 minutes.
We also heard that Android 3.2.2 update is set to be rolling out for the 4G Motorola Xoom. We guess the Android 3.2.1 update is now rolling out for Wi-Fi variants and Android 3.2.2 might be for the 4G models. Details are still mysterious to us.
