Motorola Xoom (3G version) is now available for purchase for $599.74 at Wal-Mart’s Sam’s Club stores. As we all know, Motorola Xoom is currently being offered by Verizon on a two-year contract with which you will get 5GB data at $50 per month along with a $10 per GB overage fee. The unlocked version is available at $799.99 for takers. Xoom’s $599 pricing means that it is a mere $25 discount compared to official cost at Verizon Wireless. If you are looking for more discount, try Costco, Sam’s Club rival where you would get the same device for $589. Earlier we had rumors that the WiFi only version of Motorola Xoom would be priced at $539 at Sam’s Club, and it might still take some more time till we hear official word about the pricing and availability from Motorola.
Interestingly, Sam’s Club is advertising Xoom as “4G LTE” device but we know that the device needs an upgrade from Motorola/Verizon to be able to run at 4G speeds. The 10.1-inch Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet is seen as a rival to iPad 2, thanks to power packed hardware including 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, 32GB internal storage along with microSD slot for memory expansion (support for microSD cards would be enabled at a later time by Motorola’s software update).
