World’s first Honeycomb OS powered Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi tablet is set to receive the latest iteration of the Android OS. We once heard Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi users have received soak test invites for an upcoming firmware update that contains the latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean build. But, the soak test has been delayed for unknown reasons. In the mean time, Motorola Forums Manager Matt has officially confirmed about the arrival of the Android 4.1.1 update for all the Xoom Wi-Fi devices in the U.S. The new build number will be JRO03H. Motorola has also released full changelog of the Jelly Bean update for the Xoom Wi-Fi tablet.
As you can see, Moto has indicated that the upcoming firmware update for the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi device beings an improved and more responsive user interface, expandable, actionable notifications, a smarter keyboard, improved text-to-speech capabilities, new widgets, voice search, an improved search experience and more.
We do not have an expected release date for the Jelly Bean update, but with full changelog docs like this surfacing online, we can imagine that it won’t be too much longer. Make sure to watch for the upcoming Android 4.1.1 JB update notification on your device.
