Earlier this month, Motorola has started accepting pre-orders for the Wi-Fi only versions of its Motorola XYBOARD tablets. Now, the manufacturer has officially announced that both the Motorola Xyboard 10.1 and Xyboard 8.2 tablets are now up for purchase over at Motorola website with free two-day shipping and Motorola has also confirmed that tablets have been shipped to the consumers who pre-ordered the devices. For the rest of the U.S., both these tablets are also known as Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Editions.
The Wi-Fi only variant of the Motorola XYBOARD 10.1 is available with 16GB for $499.99 and with 32GB for $599.99. The Wi-Fi only variant of the Motorola XYBOARD 8.2 comes with 16GB for $399.99 and with 32GB for $499.99. That means prices are only $20 less than the 4G LTE capable Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 and Droid Xyboard 8.2 versions.
Motorola Xyboard 10.1 comes with a 10.1-inch HD display with 1280 X 800 pixels, running Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, powered by a 1.2GHz TI OMAP chipset, 1GB RAM, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and an additional front-facing 1.3-megapixel shooter and a 7000mAh battery under the hood. Motorola Xyboard 8.2 is sharing the same specifications as that of the Xyboard 10.1 variant, except for a smaller 8.2 inch screen and a less powerful battery.
