A few days ago, Apple has started pushing out the iOS 6.0.1 update for the iPhone, iPad, iPad mini and iPod Touch devices. Apple also provided iOS 6.1 beta build for the iOS developers on its developer center. According to a source, there’s an addition of ‘Map Kit Searches’ in the upcoming iOS 6.1 update as part of the ‘Map Kit’ framework, which allows developers search for map-based addresses and points of interest. For ex, if you search for ‘restaurant’, and you will get a set of results of the nearest restaurant location to your location, including detailed information about each item.
It seems the folks over 9to5Mac have got some juicy details about a new feature in the upcoming iOS 6.1 build. According to the source, users will be able buy tickets through Siri voice service and this feature will be introduced in iOS 6.1. If you ask Siri to book a movie ticket for a movie, you will get show times, movie reviews, and a button to purchase tickets in Siri. In fact, you will be redirected to Fandango app from the App Store to purchase the ticket.
The source also said that this new feature will be only exclusively available in the U.S. for a while and all the theatres won’t be compatible with this feature.
