This must be the great news for all 3D fanatics. The company has just announced that Nintendo 3DS will be available for purchase in the U.S. from March 27th with a price tag of $249.99 and it will be released in UK on March 25th and it should cost around £230, while the rest of Europe can purchase the device at €249.99.
The gaming company has promised that over 30 games to be available during the launch window, more than 25 in Europe. So at least you’ll have plenty of games to choose from when purchasing it like Resident Evil: Revelations, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Rabbids 3D, a new Paper Mario, Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D, and an obligatory Madden NFL Football game too. But we don’t have the exact details about which games will be available when device launches in March. According to reports, it would cost $39.99 or $49.99 per game in US and UK retailer Game has confirmed the standard software price will be £39.99 in the region and €50-60 in Europe.
The Nintendo 3DS is equipped with two screens. While the bottom screen is a regular 3.02-inch touch panel, the upper screen is a slightly larger 3.53-inch display with 800×240 pixels and uses lenticular technology which offers up the glasses-less 3D effect. Nintendo 3D will include a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, 2GB SD Card, Nintendo 3DS Camera software, 3DS’ ability to double as a pedometer, Mii Maker, and the Nintendo eShop to download new software. In addition, the 3DS will be backwards compatible with Nintendo DS and DSi games.
The 3DS will include an Activity Log to track which games users have played and for how long, as well as a Mii Maker that creates a Mii avatar based on a photo taken with the 3DS camera. Users can also import avatars created on the Wii using an SD card.
The device will also include an updated version of Friend Codes. Users will have only one code they share with friends, and is not software dependent and you’ll be able to see when they’re online, without having to worry about managing multiple lists. The 3DS will add a pair of new applications to make sharing data and connecting to the Web easier. The SpotPass lets the users to easily connect to public Wi-Fi hot spots. The StreetPass allows the users exchange the high scores or Mii characters by simply passing by another person with a 3DS.
