Own a Nokia 500 and eagerly waiting to upgrade your underpowered handset with Nokia Belle OS update? Good news for you. Earlier this month, the manufacturer has started rolling out the Belle update for the Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia E6, Nokia E7, Nokia Oro and Nokia X7 handsets.
Nokia is now rolling out the Belle OS update (v111.20.59) for the first lower mid tier Symbian^3 OS powered Nokia 500 handset too. Thanks to Nokia for finally making the Nokia 500’s Belle update available. The new firmware update brings most of the Belle services including the simplified menus, a new notification bar to let you access the key settings, enhanced browser capabilities to enable high-quality Web video viewing, HD video recording at 30fps, and Nokia Maps version 3.06. Previously, the Nokia 500 handset’s video capture capability just limited to VGA quality. Now, you can personalize your handset with up to 4 home screens. Nokia Belle is even more smoother than the Symbian Anna. Currently, the Nokia Belle update is being rolled out in Asia Pacific regions, India, Europe, Middle East. Vietnam, Scandinavia and Russia.

Nokia said that the update is rolling out in waves and it will reach your Nokia 500 handset depending on your location, and your network operator, so you might not get it right away. It’s safe to assume that the update will be pushed to owners today in major counties. Please note that your handset will notify you when the Nokia Belle OS update available for your handset. So, don’t be disappointed if the update doesn’t hit your handset in the first phase. You’ll have to use the Nokia Suite software tool to upgrade the Nokia 500 handset with Belle OS. # Download the Nokia Suite tool from the above link.
# Install the downloaded file on your PC machine.
# Now connect your Nokia 500 handset to your PC using a USB cable.
# Now launch Nokia Suite on your PC and select Tools –> Software Update.
# If you found the update, select it to download and select Install.
# Follow the on-screen instructions till the Belle OS upgrade process finishes successfully.
# Enjoy Belle goodies on your Nokia 500 phone.
