In the current world of iPhones and Android Phones, we hardly get time to discover the low end smartphones. Well with a new promise, Nokia unveils the Asha 308 and 309 hoping to catch our attention once in a while. Nokia’s promise is that these Series 40 phones will be a full Smartphone, enriched with enhanced web services and apps at low cost.
The Asha 308 and Asha 309 features a 3-inch display, scratch-resistant, capacitive touchscreen, a 2-megapixel camera, powerful built-in speakers. The phones also feature Nokia’s newly released version of Nokia Xpress Browser. Nokia Claims that the new browser will enabled up to 90% more efficient mobile browsing and faster access to rich web applications compared to other conventional browsers.
Asha 308 and 309 are considered to be Nokia’s most affordable capacitive touchscreen devices. Asha’s Touch are faster, more responsive to navigate and explore than other capacitive touch phones in the range.
The new Asha devices feature the Nokia Xpress Browser, which uses cloud compression technology to make surfing the web faster consuming up to 90 per cent less data. The browser also features YouTube and you can stream YouTube videos via the phone’s video player. The phones also come with free 40 premium EA games, social features such as standalone Facebook and Twitter.
The Nokia Asha 308 features Easy Swap Dual SIM where you can swap SIM cards without turning off. While Asha 309 is a single-SIM and WiFi-enabled device.
Additionally, Nokia’s Life+ web app will be available to English users across 18 countries, with local versions coming to India, China and Indonesia in the fourth quarter of this year.
Nokia estimates the retail price for the Nokia Asha 308 and Nokia Asha 309 to be about USD 99, before taxes and subsidies. Asha 308 will be black or golden light and Asha 309 in white or black.
