At last month’s CTIA event, the Symbian OS powered Nokia C7 handset has been launched as the Nokia Astound by T-Mobile. As promised by T-Mobile, it is now available to purchase for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate on contract on 2-year contract with the carrier.
Nokia Astound runs with Symbian^3 OS on a ARM 11 680 MHz processor, sporting a 3.5“ nHD (360 x 640 pixels) AMOLED capacitive touchscreen glass with Clear Black Display supporting pinch to zoom, 600MHz processor, 3G, WI-FI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, 720p (@25 fps) HD video recording with dual-LED capable 8 Megapixels camera (3264 x 2448 pixels), 1.3 MP front-facing camera, 8GB internal storage & up to 32GB micro-SD expansion, a whole host of Nokia and T-Mobile services. The Astound comes with built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) support apparently, which is turned off by default.
