HMD Global, the company behind Nokia, has expanded its C series lineup with a new addition, the Nokia C12 Plus. The Nokia C12 Plus joins the previously released Nokia C12 and C12 Pro, which were unveiled in January and March, respectively.
Compared to the Nokia C12, the C12 Pro boasts a larger 4,000 mAh battery, while the Nokia C12 Plus features a different memory configuration, which results in a reduction in either RAM or storage. It’s worth noting that this does not necessarily mean that the C12 Plus is inferior to the other models, as different users have varying memory needs and preferences.
The Nokia C12 Plus smartphone comes equipped with a 6.3-inch HD+ display, providing users with a clear and vibrant viewing experience. The device also features an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, allowing users to capture high-quality photos and selfies with ease.
The Nokia C12 Pro is available in two different memory configurations – 2GB/64GB and 3GB/64GB, while the Nokia C12 Plus is only offered in a 2GB/32GB configuration. However, the C12 Plus includes a microSD card slot, which enables users to expand the device’s storage capacity by up to 256GB.
Powering the Nokia C12 Plus is an octa-core CPU from Unisoc, which features four cores with a maximum clock frequency of 1.6Hz. This is the same processor that is used in the Nokia C12 and C12 Pro, the SC9863A1. This suggests that the performance of the Nokia C12 Plus will be on par with its siblings in the C12 series.
Running on the latest Android 12 (Go Edition) operating system, the device delivers a smooth and user-friendly interface. Additionally, the smartphone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, making it easy for users to listen to music or take calls without the need for additional accessories.
For charging and data transfer, the device sports a microUSB port, providing users with a reliable and versatile connectivity option. In essence, the Nokia C12 Plus is a budget-friendly smartphone that aims to provide users with a reliable and practical device at an affordable price point.
The release date of the Nokia C12 Plus is currently unknown, but it has been reported that the device will be priced at INR 7,999 ($100/€90) in India. This pricing seems unusual as it is higher than the cost of the Nokia C12 Pro, which comes with more RAM (3GB) and storage (64GB) and is priced at INR 7,499 ($90/€85) in the same market.
It remains to be seen why the Nokia C12 Plus is priced higher than the Nokia C12 Pro, but more information about its availability and pricing may be released by HMD Global in the coming days. Despite the pricing discrepancy, the Nokia C12 Plus is still a compelling choice for those looking for an affordable smartphone with expandable storage and reliable performance.
