At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, Nokia showed off its new City Lens Beta app they were working on. The Nokia City Lens Beta app is an augmented reality program that will help you find nearby locations including restaurants, hotels, landmarks, shops, public transport stations. Finally, the Nokia City Lens Beta app is now available for the Nokia Lumia 900, Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 windows phones.
This app also lets you filter points of interest, get destinations with one tap, or share places with friends. It brings multiple view modes based on your phone’s orientation. Nokia City Lens app lets you do following tasks:
# You can instantly see what’s around you: landmarks, restaurants, hotels, shops and public transport stations visually right on your phone
# Select your interests in many different categories: Nokia City Lens will filter the points of interests and present your choices
# All the details at a glance: simply tap to read reviews, descriptions and destination information
# One tap to call or navigate to the location
# Share a place with friends via email and SMS or via the built-in sharing feature of Windows Phone
If you need to view a map that will show the locations of all the places you wanted to explore, you will have to lay the handset flat down. In portrait orientation, you can see a list of the locations along with navigation buttons. This mode will give you directions, phone numbers and you can also able to pin the location to your start screen.
