After numerous leaks and rumors, The Finnish mobile maker has officially launched the new Nokia Lumia 822 for Verizon Wireless network, which is almost identical to Lumia 820 phone in terms of its specs. T-Mobile will also carry the same version, under Nokia Umia 810 moniker and the high-end spec’d PureView Phase 2 capable Lumia 920 will be exclusive to AT&T for the first half year after its launch.
Nokia Lumia 822 packs a 4.3-inch WVGA OLED display with Gorilla Glass 2/ Under teh hood, there is a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 SoC, paired up with a gigabyte of RAM and it has got support for micro SD expansion up to 32GB. The Lumia 822 will only be sold in black, white and gray. Users can also swap the back of the handset with other colors and it will be running Windows Phone 8 OS, which was just made official by Microsoft.
Nokia 822 also comes preinstalled with Nokia City Lens app, Nokia Transit app, Nokia Drive+ offline navigation app with US maps pre-installed and a set of exclusive camera apps such as Smart Shoot, Cinemagraph, Panorama and Creative Studio. Nokia will also offer free Nokia Music service (ad free) for the Lumia 822 handset. The handset will be served by the Big Red network’s 4G LTE bands and the carrier has yet to confirm its official plans to carry this device.

There is no word on when the Lumia 822 handset will go up for sale on Verizon network. Users can sign up on Nokia’s website to be notified by email once the handset becomes available to purchase.
