AT&T on Thursday announced the new Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 windows phones for U.S. consumers at its New York event. They have planned to release both phones in November, but there was no word on exact release ship dates. The carrier has also kept mum about pricing info. According to a new rumor, the high-end spec’d Nokia Lumia 920 handset is slated to hit AT&T markets in early November. WPCentral claims that “a well-placed source in AT&T” told them AT&T is planning to sell the Lumia 920 handset on Sunday, November 4.
We shouldn’t rule out this date as rumor. It’s a Sunday, a date that AT&T loves to launch new phones. AT&T always releases new phone on Thursday. Microsoft has scheduled a Windows Phone 8 event on October 29th in San Francisco, where the Redmond company will officially reveal the full features of its next mobile operating system and its future plans about roll out dates of the Windows Phone 7.8 OS update for the existed Windows Phones devices.
So it would make a whole lot of sense to see the Lumia 920 in both stores and online on November 4th, as suggested by the rumor. So, go ahead and circle Nov. 4th on the calendar for now.
AT&T has also planned to launch the HTC Windows Phone 8X handset with built-in Beats Audio enhancement in November and it has been spotted testing by the manufacturer in San Francisco. T-Mobile is already taking details of the interested users on its website in favor of the HTC Windows Phone 8X. But, T-Mobile also kept mum on pricing and availability details. According to a previous leak, Verizon is also gearing up to release the HTC 8X windows phone in the coming months.
