It’s been a long time in the making, but the long awaited Windows Phone 8 “Portico” update has finally begun rolling out for the international versions of the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 handsets. According to a thread on Nokia Discussions, the global rollout of Nokia Lumia 920/820 starts today. Nokia Lumia 920 owners who are residing in U.S. and Canada have already received the Portico update in last year.
The Portico aka PR1.1 update will bring performance enhancements, imaging capabilities and battery management for both Lumias.

# Internet Explorer improvements
# More efficient and reliable Bluetooth connectivity
# More efficient and reliable start-up sequence

# Wi-Fi to remain on after the device’s screen times out.
Nokia Lumia 920 users should also get improved camera performance, fixing camera fizzy shots in daylight. The update will bump the OS to version 8.0.10211.204.
Nokia notes that the Portico update is rolling out in phases tomorrow, and is expected to be complete its global rollout by mid-March. Folks who have yet to see an alert concerning to the update and the folks that’d like to manually check for the update from the device’s Settings menu will be able to do by heading into Settings –> Phone Update –> Check for Updates and follow the prompts. On the states side, the Portico update has begun rolling out today for the AT&T HTC 8X and T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 810 handsets.
