Oppo has been making waves in the smartphone industry recently, releasing a string of impressive foldable devices such as the Find N2 Flip and Find N2. The company is now taking things to the next level with the announcement of its latest offering, the Oppo Find X6 Pro. This new smartphone boasts a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a state-of-the-art 1-inch primary camera sensor, a stunning design, and a host of other exciting features that are sure to impress.
Oppo has gained a reputation for creating exceptional smartphones that are not always available outside China. Despite this, the company remains at the forefront of cutting-edge Android technology. The Find X5 Pro, released last year, impressed users with its superior battery life, stunning display, and high-end specifications. Oppo’s latest offering, the Find X6 Pro, takes things up a notch and is set to compete with Samsung’s and Xiaomi’s top-tier phones. While it’s currently only available in China, this smartphone is definitely worth keeping an eye on, and it’s sure to make many people envious.
Oppo appears to have taken a different approach with the Find X6 Pro’s design, moving away from the sleek ceramic build of the Find X5 Pro. This change may be disappointing for some users, as the ceramic body of the previous model helped it to stand out in a market full of glass and metal slabs. However, the overall look of the Find X6 Pro is still impressive, and it even gives off some Nokia 1020 (a Windows Phone) vibes.
Oppo Find X6 Pro: Aiming to Reign as the Top 1-inch Sensor Smartphone
Oppo is making a big statement with the Find X6 Pro’s camera setup, claiming to usher in the “Three Main Camera era.” All three of the cameras on the back of the device boast the largest sensors in the smartphone world for their respective positions.
The primary wide camera uses a 1-inch type Sony IMX989 sensor, which is also found in the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Vivo X90 Pro. It’s paired with a 23mm f/1.8 lens, providing excellent low-light performance and depth of field.
The ultrawide lens has a 15mm f/2.2 aperture and sits behind a 1/1.56-inch IMX890 sensor, which is the largest used in an ultrawide camera so far. This sensor allows for better low-light performance and more accurate color reproduction.
Finally, the periscope unit has a 65mm equivalent focal length, the same 1/1.56-inch IMX890 sensor, and a bright f/2.6 aperture – two firsts on a periscope camera. This setup allows for excellent zoom capabilities, with up to 5x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom.
Oppo has once again partnered with the legendary camera manufacturer Hasselblad to bring some of its best imaging technology to the Find X6 Pro. The cameras come with software tuning to the colors using the Hasselblad Natural Colour profile, and also include the Hasselblad Pro Mode, XPAD mode for panoramic shots, and a faithful shutter sound that is reminiscent of a Hasselblad camera.
In addition, the Hasselblad Watermark adds shooting parameters in a border under each photo. Oppo has also introduced a Hasselblad Portrait Mode that utilizes the wide and telephoto cameras to produce results that aim to replicate the XCD30 and XCD80 medium format lenses.
In addition to the impressive camera hardware, Oppo is leveraging its custom MariSilicon X imaging processor to enhance the photography capabilities of the Find X6 Pro. This processor enables faster focusing and improved accuracy, along with an industry-leading 42% image stabilization range for the periscope camera. With these advancements, users can expect to capture stunning, stabilized photos and videos even in challenging shooting conditions.
All three cameras on the Find X6 Pro support the deep fusion of uncompressed RAW image data, resulting in enhanced clarity and shadow and light details. Additionally, the phone features an upgraded 13-channel spectral sensor that analyzes the ambient lighting and adjusts the White balance accordingly, delivering more accurate and natural-looking colors.
The phone’s advanced imaging processor enables a 6x hybrid zoom with the periscope lens, providing full optical quality for the best possible image quality. Furthermore, the Find X6 Pro allows for equally impressive 4K video capture at both the native 3x and 6x zoom levels.
The phone’s video capabilities are further enhanced by its support for Dolby Vision 4K HDR, which enables high-quality video capture with vibrant colors and stunning contrast.
