In May, Oppo introduced the Reno 8 series of the Android phones, including Reno 8, the Reno 8 Pro, and the Reno 8 Pro+. Among these phones, Oppo reno 8 Pro was launched with the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. It looks like Oppo is preparing to launch the Reno 8 Pro’s successor with a downgraded processor.
According to the source, the upcoming Oppo Reno 9 Pro will be offered with the older Snapdragon 778G processor (SM7325), while its predecessor had the much better 7 Gen SM7450 SoC by Qualcomm.
Previous reports have suggested the Reno 9 Pro will have a 4,500mAh battery and it could be the first phone to ship with UFCS support. If you can’t recall, UFSC (Universal Fast Charging Specification) is fast charging protocol recently designed in China. The remaining two phones of Oppo Reno 9 lineup are also expected to be launched with MediTek Helio processors.
The source also claims said that the Reno 9 series will come in a red color option dubbed “Everything Red.” It is expected that the Reno 9 series will debut by the end of this year in China.
