Finally, HP/Palm has launched its latest smartphone SIM-free Pre Palm 2 in UK. It looks like a lot of the major carriers will not be carrying the device. Palm Pre 2 is the first phone to come with latest webOS 2.0. Its also the first smartphone of Palm since HP took over that company earlier this year.
Palm Pre 2 features ‘True multi tasking’, which enables you to pause a game, tap an email notification, check your calendar, read a restaurant review, send an email reply, then switch back to the game without closing anything. The new WebOS 2.0 lets you easily manage multiple open applications and notifications using natural touch gestures.
The latest OS also comes with improved support for HTML5 features, including built-in GPS service, Adobe flash payer 10.1. Its True multi tasking comes with ‘Just Type’ feature which lets you compose without opening an app.
The Pre 2 sports 3.1 inch TFT multitouch HVGA scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass display, super fast 1GHz processor, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, 3G, Wi-Fi connectivity, 512MB RAM, 16 GB memory storage. But it lacks memory expansion support.
