It seems Verizon is prepping to release the successor of the Pantech Breakout handset in the coming weeks. The sliding, QWERTY-packing Pantech Star Q handset leaked on its way to Verizon shelves. The device comes with capability to connect carrier’s 4G LTE network and it could be mid-range Android device aiming for budget goers. The manufacturer is still sticking to its mid-range spec’d handsets for the U.S. Good news is that the source is claiming Pantech Star Q has an high-end 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor under the hood, which can act as capable performer for the handset.
The device runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS out of the box, featuring a 4-inch display with 480x800p resolution, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3MP rear-facing camera, an additional front-facing facing camera with indeterminate resolution, Bluetooth 4.0. The below photo that was found on Picasa album purportedly captured with this handset.
The Pantech Star Q handset is expected be priced at $99.99 on contract, but Verizon may sell this handset quite a bit lower than expected.
