MWC 2023 has begun a couple of days ago, and following announcements from tech giants like Honor, ZTE, OnePlus, Tecno, we’ve got yet another company showing off its latest flagship hardware at the expo. Honor and Tecno may have dominated the at MWC 2023 with the Magic 5 Pro, Magic Vs foldable, and Tecno Phantom V Fold devices at the expo, Another unlikely competitor comes in the form of the world’s first phone with 240W charging is ready to get on the global stage.
As it has promised earlier, the Chinese manufacturer has officially announced the Realme GT3 for the global markets. It is a rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo 5 240W, which was recently launched in China.
One of the biggest highlights of this phone lies underneath the display: A 4,600 mAh battery supports Realme’s industry leading blazing-fast 240W SuperVOOC Charge. It has three 100W charging chips to achieve 98.5% transfer efficiency during charging very easily. That device draws the power from a dual GaN charger which is the same size as Realme’s 150W charger from lat year. Realme claims that its 240W system will offer the “fastest charging power for years to come, as it has reached the maximum charging power possible under USB-C standards”.
At these fast charging speeds, the device can be fully charged in 10 mins, charges up to 20% in just 80 seconds, 50% will be easily achieved in 4 minutes.
The Realme GT3 packs a 6.7-inch 144Hz 1.5K flat AMOLED screen with 2160Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming, up to 1400 nits brightness and a 2.31mm ultra-narrow chin, as well as in-display fingerprint sensor. The device will be powered by a vapor-cooled Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 8 or 12 or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and speedy 128/256/512GB or 1TB UFS 3.1 storage.
The 6,580mm² VC covers 61.5% of the battery and along with 13 temperature sensors to keep it at safe levels during charging. It also has 4500 mm² 3D VC cooling, 1500Hz gaming control engine, customized for players and antenna matrix system 2.0.
On the back, it has RGB system with a transparent design, offering 25 colors, 2 rhythm and 5 speed models with custom settings for notifications, low battery and more. It features a “Pulse Interface System”, aka a C-shaped RGB light which sits next to the camera bump. While charging, it pulses red at first 80 seconds it will pulse red, then for the next 7 minutes or so it will pulse purple, and when the battery full charges, it flashes a steady purple. On the back, it is made with matte AG glass.
For camera optics, there’s a camera setup featuring a 50MP IMX890 main module with OIS(1/1.56”, 1.0µm), 8MP ultra wide (112°) and a 2MP microscope, plus it has a 16MP selfie camera on the front. The back camera has HyperShot 2.0, Turbo RAW lossless image algorithm, Street shooting mode 3.0 and a microscope lens. The device will ship with Android 13 based Realme UI 4.0 out of the box.
The Realme GT3 will be offered in two colors – Black, and White with five different storage configurations:
- 8GB + 128GB
- 12GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 512GB
- 16GB + 512GB
- 16GB + 1TB
The Chinese brand will start sales direct from its website and third party retailers in three configurations: 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS3.1 storage for $549, while the price tags are unknown for the remaining and 12/256GB and 16/256 GB, 16/512GB, 16/1TB models. No word yet on the release date too, which will be announced very soon.
