During the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 event, the Redmond company has officially unveiled the new Samsung ATIV Odyssey handset exclusively for Verizon Wireless. Specs wise, it seems almost identical to the Samsung ATIV S windows phone, which was made official at the IFA 2012 trade show in Berlin. Microsoft has showed off a placeholder graphic of the Ativ Odyssey rather than Samsung’s official press shot.
Here are the expected features of Samsung Ativ Odyssey:
# 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display (as opposed to 4.8” screen of Ativ S)
# Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor
# 1GB RAM
# 8MP rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video recording capability
# 2MP snapper on front side
# 16GB internal storage and microSD slot for memory expansion up to 32GB
# 4G LTE capability
# NFC radio
# Windows Phone 8 OS
Microsoft confirmed the Samsung Ativ Odyssey will hit Verizon stores in December, but there was no word on exact release date and price tag information. Verizon is also getting Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC Windows Phone 8X phones $99 and $199 respectively.
