Most of the Windows Phone users are impatiently waiting got the long awaited Windows Phone 7.8 update, and there are a section of Windows Phone 8 handsets from HTC and Nokia are now available in markets, reaching out the hands in consumers. But, Samsung is missing fun here. Sammy has yet to announce on how soon can we expect the ATIV S Windows Phone 8 handset to be available for purchase by the end of this year or by the first quarter 2013?
Earlier this month, we already reported that “the first stock delayed until week commencing December 10th.” But, according to the latest reports, the release may have postponed even further back. T-Mobile Germany has tweeted that they are not planning to launch ATIV S in the fourth quarter of 2012. That means, we won’t see it in some stores by the end of this year and it might be delayed until January 2013 in Europe. SamMobile says that it is expected to ship only in the last week of this year.
Samsung ATIV S is a great addition for WP8 line-up, packing a 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8MP rear camera, 16GB onboard storage, microSD card slot and it will be priced at $199 with a 3-yr contract on Rogers network in Canada. Some reliable sources have suggested that Microsoft will release Apollo+ update for the WP8 handsets in the first quarter of 2013. Samsung has to come forward and tell us when the device will first see the daylight.
