Now, we’ve another news for the Samsung Fascinate owners, who are still running Android 2.2 Froyo on their handsets. In fact, Verizon has rolled out the Froyo update in April. After a long wait, Verizon now came to rescue the Fascinate users. The carrier has started rolling out the most awaited Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update for its Samsung Galaxy S variant – Fascinate handsets. The new build number would be i500.EH03. Here’s what you can expect to find in the update once the handset has upgraded with the new firmware update, which happens to be build number i500.EH03:

# You can take advantage of a new “Running” tab that shows off a list of active applications and the amount of storage and memory used by each.
# Improved word selection and copy functionality.
# Press-hold on the screen – to select a word; Press twice – to copy the word.

# SMS messages can be accessed via the “Quick Alphabet Access” option on the right side of the screen.

The update will come over-the-air (OTA), that means you’ll receive a notification on your phone that the update is available. Then you’ll be able to choose to download and install it by hitting the OK button on the handset’s screen. The rollout may take a few more days for it to reach your particular device.
In order to manually download the Gingerbread goodness right now, all the Samsung Epic 4G handsets’ owners need to do is hit up Home –> Menu –> then Settings –> select About Phone –> hit Software Updates –> and then select Check now button –> If update found, tap OK button. This process should initiate the upgrade process and follow the on-screen instruction to finish the downloading the build, which is weighing 95.7MB of size and let the installation process finish until you will get confirmation on the screen that installation was successful.
