The South Korean has today announced the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Premier handset. This one comes as no surprise after so many leaks. Based on the specs of the device, the device looks like the Galaxy Nexus with slightly updated hardware. The model no. of the handset is I9260.
The highlights of the Galaxy Player’s specs sheet including a 4.65-inch Super HD AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels of resolution and a full gigabyte of RAM and comes Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS installed. There’s an 8 megapixel rear camera on back to record 1080p HD videos, 8GB or 16GB internal storage; microSD card expansion, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC. There’s also a 1.9MP front shooter and a 2,100mAh battery
The handset will have TouchWiz UI on top of Android OS and comes preinstalled with, S Beam, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Pop-Up Play, S Voice, Best Photo apps. There is no word on the processor inside. But, according to the previously leaked benchmark scores, there could be a TI OMAP4470 with a dual-core 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU and PowerVR SGX544 graphics processor.
The Samsung Galaxy Premier will be available to purchase sometime next month and consumers in Ukraine can grab it for around 5,555UAH (that’s roughly $680) in December.
