The South Korean manufacturer’s latest addition its Galaxy S phones line-up, the Galaxy S4, which made memorable debut at Samsung’s Unpacked event last month in NYC, is finding its way to the United States and Canada very soon in the coming weeks. Earlier today, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has popped up on AT&T website for pre-order with April 30th ship date. In a press release, AT&T has officially confirmed it will begin selling the device in stores and online from May 3rd. AT&T will charge $199 for 16GB variant of the Galaxy S4. That’s a reasonable price for this caliber of handset, which has got a 5-inch 1080p Full HD screen, quad-core processor, 13MP camera, and soem innovative software capabilities such as S Voice, Smart Pause and more. The 32GB edition will be priced at $299. If you don’t want to stuck up with any contract, you can pick up the SIM-free edition for $640. AT&T has noted 32GB edition will be released soon.
A previous leak (according to Staples training doc) suggested that the AT&T branded Galaxy S4 was supposed to launch in stores on April 26th. T-Mobile is also planning to launch its edition of the Galaxy S4 on May 1st.
It seems Canadians will be able to grab the Galaxy S4 handset earlier than U.S. citizens. Pre-ordered devices via Canada based wireless carriers are expected to ship on April 27th, and it will hit the retail stores on May 3rd in Canada. Rogers and Telus are going to ask $199 with 3-year contract or $700 without any contract for Galaxy S4 handset. The device is currently available in Canada from Telus, Bell, Virgin, or Videotron.
