The 3G candybar Android powered smartphone, Samsung Gem announced in the last month, is now available on the regional wireless carrier Alltel. Samsung Gem would cost you Zero bucks for Free after a $50 mail-in-rebate.
Samsung Gem is an entry-level smartphone runs with the no longer valid Android 2.1 Éclair OS on a 3.2 inches touchscreen display with 240×400 pixels of resolution and anti-smudge coating on a 800MHz application processor, a 3.2 Megapixels camera, Swype on the virtual keyboard, 124MB internal memory, micro-SD card slot support for 16GB memory storage, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, 850/1900MHz CDMA spectrum, Hotspot capabilities, social networking integration on Samsung Hub, Android Market and the whole host of the Google, Samsung services.
The Samsung gem should be upgradable to Android 2.2 Froyo in next six months.
