Samsung Gravity T series for T-Mobile has always offered great midrange mobile phones optimized for texting. Following the legacy is the new Samsung Gravity Touch 2 “GT2”, this time powered by Android. Samsung t589 Gravity Touch 2, the next generation T-Mobile Gravity phone is a low to mid-end smartphone running Android 2.2 Froyo OS, boasting a 3.2-inch display, slide-out physical QWERTY keypad, 3 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, running on an 800MHz processor, TouchWiz UI etc. Information about the remaining specifications is not yet available.
According to a leaked screenshot via TMonews, the device, touted to be the first Gravity branded Android device that is optimized for texting will be launched on June 8 along with the HTC Sensation 4G and Samsung Exhibit 4G. The screenshot also shows the dealer price as $225 without any contract but it may just cost you $50 if you are okay with a 2-year contract with T-Mobile with a $10 data plan attached. While we can see so many Android phones being upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, GT2 is still coming with Android Froyo and there is no info about the possible Gingerbread update schedule. While this is not really an impressive Android device for Android fans, it has still got the market being an affordable smartphone.
