Late yesterday, Cricket Wireless has released its latest mid-range spec’d Android powered Samsung Indulge smartphone, aimed at the customers who want to get a decent smartphone at an affordable price and don’t want to get stuck with annual contract deals. The same handset is already available for sale as ‘Samsung Forte’ by Metro PCS network with LTE capability, but the Cricket’s Indulge will have to be content with 3G only.
Samsung Indulge has got a full 4-row side-sliding QWERTY keyboard and it has become the fourth Android powered smartphone for MetroPCS, and it is having a 3.5-inch 480×320 capacitive touchscreen, a samsung Snapdragon single-core 1GHz processor, a 3 megapixel autofocus camera with video capture, 2GB internal memory, micro-SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, stereo Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, and a 1500 mAh battery. Sadly, the Samsung Indulge isn’t running on the the very latest version of Android (v 2.3.4 Gingerbread). It’s still running on the out-dated Android 2.2. Froyo OS with Samsung TouchWiz 3.0, and its battery will provide a talk time of up to 3 hours, and a standby time of up to 300 hours.
