U.S. Cellular has rolled out the Android 2.2 Froyo update for its Galaxy S variant Samsung Mesmerize handset in this March. Since then lot of users who have installed the Froyo update have been reporting the problems that the volume keys are not responding properly, some phone calls being missed and that browser stops closing and force closes. A few days back, the carrier has promised to bring an update to address these issues. As promised, a software update is now available to download via Kies Mini software for the Samsung Mesmerize handsets. The update version is being treated as EE19, and this update should fix the issues mentioned above. The update will bring a few bug fixes related to selecting ringtones, and it also includes few security fixes.
Changes To Take Place After Upgrading To EE19 Update:
# Fixes issues with calls that didn’t come through while you were watching YouTube.
# Contacts backup should now perform properly.
# Bug fixes for selecting ringtones, including one that could cause a force-close.
# Default ringtone will be restored if Speak Caller ID selected prior to upgrade EC10.
# Google Client Id change – Fixed.
# Google Rooting & Google Market Security Patches.
# Google Security Patch CVE-2010-4804.
How To Download EE19 Update:
Samsung Mesmerize handsets’ owners must have the ‘Kies Mini’ software installed on their computers in order to upgrade their handsets to software version EE19.
Download: Kies Mini 1.0.0.11032_1 (hit the link; file is weighing 35.6MB of size).
Users are required to configure USB Settings mode as Samsung Kies. So head over to Home –> Menu –> Settings –> USB settings –> Samsung Kies. Make sure to backup all your stuff prior to installing the update and get the full treat of EE19 update.
Start installing Kies Mini software with the help of onscreen instructions on your PC. After finishing installation of Kies Mini –> Restart the PC –> Attach the handset to PC with USB cable –> Launch Kies Mini application on PC –> Click on Phone Upgrade –> Follow the onscreen instructions –> The upgrade process should start now –> Done.
