The coming weeks will be one of the year’s busiest days for tablets. As you all know Apple’s ‘iPad mini’ is expected to unveil tomorrow, October 23 and Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 event is scheduled on October 29. In the mean time Google sent out invitations to its Android Playground event with the tagline “The playground is open” on the same date of WP8 event.
Adding fuel to the rumors, now reliable sources claim that the much rumored Samsung Nexus 10 and Android 4.2 will be revealed at the Google Playground event. Till now we were speculating that the event will bring the LG Nexus 4 and the Asus Nexus 7 with 32GB. Well the new Android 4.2 is also one of the most anticipated version, which interestingly is said to appear on October 29.
Asus Nexus 7 with 32GB Storage and HSPA+ (3G) support?
If we talk of the Asus made Nexus 7 with 32GB Storage, you can say that it is confirmed as its existence was proved last week when customers bought it from a Staples store for $249. However, new sources reveals that there will be a second 32GB variant that will offer HSPA+ (3G) support, allowing users to take the tablet on their travels. This is another fuel to the Nexus rumor.
Samsung Nexus 10 Codenamed “Manta” running Google’s new Android 4.2?
Coming the next one, we have heard news and leaks that Google has been working with Samsung to launch a 10-inch tablet. It was inevitable for Google to team up with the Korean manufacturer considering the big success of Galaxy S III and many calls it the iPhone Killer. Samsung Nexus 10 or Codenamed “Manta” running Google’s new Android 4.2 operating system offering a 2560×1600 pixel (16:10) resolution with around 300 pixels per inch (ppi) can take the limelight of the October 29 event.
LG Nexus 4 running Android 4.2?
Another rumor which is considered to be 100% true is the new LG Nexus 4 featuring a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 display, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2100mAh battery. This is also scheduled for the event. Well another new thich that is added to this spice is that the LG Nexus 4 “may” also be running new Android 4.2.
Google’s timing is quite competitive, considering that if the new Android 4.2 is being unveiled on the same day as Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8. Anyways what you see is a lot of question mark and with no official word on any of these devices or software, what we can do is wait for another week.
