Looking for a modest mid-range QWERTY device? Verizon has officially announced the new Samsung Stratosphere II handset, which packs some pretty decent specs. It will be available to purchase “in the coming weeks” for $129 after a $50 mail-in-rebate on a new two-year contract with the Big Red network.
Carrying the exact same form factor as its predecessor, the new Samsung Stratosphere II packs a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, comes Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS installed, Global ready support in over 200 countries and it will be backed up by Verizon’s 4G LTE network and will sport Samsung’s TouchWiz over the top of Ice Cream Sandwich.
It has also got NFC functionality, S Beam, built-in Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity with support for multi-vendor Mobile Device Management (MDM),Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and on-device AES 256-bit encryption
