Sony Ericsson has announced a new iteration of the iconic Xperia brand – the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S handset at the first day of the IFA 2011 event in Berlin. Xperia Arc S is super identical to the previous Xperia Arc in terms of specs and hardware, but the Arc S will be slightly faster. The Xperia Arc S is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 1.4GHz processor, while the Arc has got 1GHz processor only, so there will be 40% speed increase and according to the company, we can expect real-world performance to amount to about a 20-25% speed-up.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S is having another interesting feature – the ability to shoot 3D and 3D panorama pictures. With the help of the 3D sweep panorama mode, you will be to use the handset’s regular 2D camera to generate 3D images for viewing over HDMI on compatible displays. Other specs are including an 8 megapixel Exmor R camera with 720p HD video recording capability, 4.2-inch FWVGA “Reality Display” enhanced by Mobile Bravia Engine with a slightly higher resolution of 854 X 480 pixels, compared to the 800 X 480 on the original Xperia arc. It has also got 512MB RAM and the regular cellular features like Wi-Fi b/g/n, DLNA certification, Bluetooth and there will be 320MB internal memory, 8GB microSD card included with support for 32GB max, Facebook inside Xperia to share the gams & apps through Facebook and it runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS with access to Sony services like “Music Unlimited” and “Video Unlimited”.

Price & Availability
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S handset will be available to purchase from October at an unknown price point in Pure White, Midnight Blue, Misty Silver, Gloss Black, and Sakura Pink flavors. More images after the break.
