The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G is the AT&T version of the Verizon branded Xperia Play, having all the same specifications with HSPA+ 4G connectivity, and it is world’s first PlayStation Certified Android powered handset to be able to play select Sony PlayStation titles using its PSP Go-like slide-out gaming pad.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play comes filled with Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS flavored with TimeScape UI & MediaScape UI, sporting a 4-inch TFT touchscreen with 480 x 854 pixels of resolution, powered by a 1GHz Single core Scorpion ARMv7 processor, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with 720p HD video recording capability, a front-facing camera for video chat purpose – and it is capable of capturing video and photos at VGA (640×480) resolution, 512MB RAM, a micro-USB charging sync/cable, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, Bluetooth, 400MB built-in memory, micro-SD card slot for memory expansion support up to 32GB, Android Market, pre-installed Dungeon Defenders 2 and NOVA 2 games, 1500mAh battery, and much more.
The game controls of the Xperia Play are similar to the original PlayStation Portable device with the exclusion of the dual touchpads, and it consists of 13 non-backlit buttons.
