Sony Ericsson has officially showed the Xperia Play aka PlayStation Phone in an unpleasant commercial (we’ve already seen it leaked before) that played during the Super Bowl and the Xperia play will be making its first official appearance on February 13th, a day before the official start of Mobile World Congress (MWC 2011) show in Barcelona at 6PM GMT time on Sunday.
We’ve been seeing so many leaks and previews of the Xperia Play since past few days. The Xperia Play will be the first Android phone to feature Sony’s ‘PlayStation Suite’ , which is a gaming port for phones that will bring an extensive developer-friendly gaming environment to several smartphone operating systems and this feature is scheduled to appear by year-end. For now, Xperia Play will be having PS 1 games to entertain us.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play wil be running with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and having 4.0-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, equipped with a 5 Megapixels camera.
We are just 5 days away from the event to see the full-fledged beauty of the worst kept secret in the smartphone industry. Hang on tight. We will bring on more updates. Check out the full versioned Super Bowl commercial of Sony Ericsson after the image.
