Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G Coming To AT&T On September 18th For $49.99

SE Xperia Play 4G AT&T

The Android gaming smartphone Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G which already hit the airwaves of Verizon sometime back is set to make its debut on the GSM based AT&T network in the U.S. AT&T version of the popular Xperia Play will be available on the shelves starting September 18th. But don’t be confounded, the ‘4G’ tag in the name doesn’t exactly reflect the 4G network speeds like LTE that we usually expect. The phone however does support the AT&T’s HSPA+ 4G network that yields speeds up to 21Mbps. Xperia Play 4G will also be available in an exclusive “stealth blue” color besides the usual black.

Specs wise, there’s no much deviation from the Verizon / European version of the Xperia Play that we have already seen. Xperia Play 4G will have a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display (480 x 854), Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread OS, 1GHz single-core processor, Adreno 205 graphics, 5 megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1GB of internal memory, microSD card expansion up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Facebook inside Xperia app and more. AT&T’s Xperia Play 4G also comes loaded with seven mobile games: Dungeon Defenders Second Wave, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Star Battalion, Madden NFL 11, The Sims 3, Tower Bloxx, and Crash Bandicoot.

The package will also contain the Sony Ericsson Multimedia Dock DK300 and the MC100 music cable as bonus accessories. Wanna buy it? You will need to wait till September 18th, when this gaming mobile will be launched for $49.99 on a two-year contract.
