Sony Ericsson Product Blog has just announced that Xperia X10 will get multi-touch functionality in the first quarter of next year, 2011. Previously, SE isn’t in favour of upgrading this service in X10, but due to the users and developers community pressures, SE made this right decision and released a video of showing the progress of getting ‘Pinch Zoom’ multi-touch functionality on the Xperia X10 and to confirm that they are working on it.
Recently, a few days back Xperia X10 handsets to Android 2.1 from Android 1.6. Sony Ericsson stated that some hardware limitations such as digitizer in the Xperia X10 is not allowing the multi-touch support on it.
So SE has finally trying to enable this ‘Pinch Zoom’ feature for the two use-cases — in the web browser & in Google Maps. And we can’t expect the touch gaming with buttons pressed simultaneously on different parts of the screen to work.
BTW, Xperia X10 sports 4” capacitive touch display, 1 GHz processor, 8.1 Megapixels camera with auto focus and LED flash, 3G, Wi-Fi and some more.
Watch the below video to check how this Pinch zooming works on Xperia X10.
