The new Sony S2 tablet is heading to the USA as it hits the FCC recently. Most of the information about the S2 is hidden by the confidentiality request from Sony. Though no new spec details can be known from the FCC filing, there are reports that the Sony S2 aka SGPT211US will support 4.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, and 850MHz and 1900MHz 3G bands which is why it is assumable that it will be launched on AT&T. The device could also support 21Mbps HSPA+ wireless networks.
The Sony S2 is expected to feature two 5.5 inch, 1024 x 480 pixel powered by a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Sony S2 will also be running with Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS and it is a PlayStation certified tablet with a camera. Users can always access a book reader application and an email app at the same time. Users can also watch video on the top screen and operate playback controls on the bottom screen. Well it is not sure as of now how the dual screen will be used for the Playstation gaming.
The dual-screen equipped Sony S2 tablet was announced officially in April and it is expected to be launched this fall but the price is not yet known. There are rumors that it will be shipped at a price of $699.
