We are already aware that an unannounced mid-range spec’d Sony ST25i Kumquat handset, which we’ve recently seen caught in the wild, is expected to set for a MWC reveal in Barcelona in late February 2012 and if the recently leaked Sony 2012 smartphone roadmap is to be believed, Sony ST25i Kumquat handset should release in the second quarter of this year. The new reports are saying that Sony ST25i handset will get a new brand name at its launch time.
An Indonesian Postel website Telecoms Regulatory has listed a listed various handsets’ network details, including Sony Xperia S and Sony ST25i Kumquat. According to the list provided on the postel website, Sony ST25i will be launched as Sony Xperia U.
According to the previous reports, Sony Kumquat / Xperia U handset will feature Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread, 3.5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 resolution) Reality Display with BRAVIA Engine technology, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5MP rear camera with 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GSM / W-CDMA support, Bluetooth 2.1 and much more.
