Sony has released its latest flagship phone, the Xperia S without Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS preinstalled and promised us an eventual update. But, Sony couldn’t make it real till now. It looks like the manufacturer is prepping to roll out the ICS update very soon.
A Sony Xperia Support tem member has commented on their Sony Mobile Forums that Android 4.0 ICS update will begin pushing out by “late May/early June.” Well, it’s not an official statement straight from Sony, but it’s a good sign that Sony Support faculty has mentioned company’s plans on iCS roll out for Xperia S handset. Sony has already released the alpha and beta build of ICS build for a slew of Xperia devices that were released last year. In late April, the manufacturer started rolling out the ICS update for the Sony Tablet S.
AT&T branded 4G LTE capable Sony Xperia Ion handsets will be also shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out-of-the box. We are still surprising that why these devices are coming out with no ICS build preinstalled on them. Sony Xperia Ion is expected to hit the AT&T stores this June, according to an ad placement on Google search results.
