Sony Mobile’s upcoming Android phone called, Xperia SP C530X has been caught on camera, which might suggest the manufacturer has decided to announce very soon. First set of pictures of the alleged Xperia SP handset emerge online, and it also got compared to the currently available water/dust resistant Sony Xperia V handset, which has recently upgraded with Jelly Bean goodness.
These live pictures have been published by a German website Android-Hilfe, and the source is claiming that the new device will ship in three region-specific versions – C530, C5302, and C5303. The source also reports that it will have a removable back plastic cover, so that you can access the memory card slot. Unfortunately, its battery is not removable, and it won’t be able to see the Xperia SP handset’s performance first-hand for a while.
Thanks to the folks over at Android-Hilfe. We are finally able to get a good look at the Xperia SP handset, which looks like it will sport a display larger than 4.3-inches of the Xperia V device.
The Sony Xperia SP handset is expected to carry the following features:
# An unspecified 720p HD display
# Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T dual-core chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz
# Adreno 320 graphics
# 4G LTE connectivity (for C5303), and HSPA.radio (for C530, C5302 models)
# And ships with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS
We’re not sure when exactly Sony will go official with the Xperia SP handset, and how much it will cost when it launches. Additionally, there’s also the possibility that Sony will unveil new handsets in its Xperia Android phones lineup. Stay tuned for more details.
