The price tag of the Sony Xperia SP has popped up online on a Facebook page confirming that it will be priced at 17,990 RUB ($583) in Russia and availability of the Sony Xperia SP will be sometime in August. Besides offering the device, the Japanese mobile manufacturer will be offering a free Sony MH1c LiveSound headset on buying the device.
In addition to Russia, the official price of the smartphone is now revealed for India. It will be available for 27,490 INR ($505). The device will be available in mid-April at all leading Sony Stores as well as on mobile stores across the country. Sony will offer a free premium case worth 1,990 INR to those customers who buy the Sony Xperia SP.
The Sony Xperia SP is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and it is packed with a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon processor. Other specs are 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory which is expandable via a microSD slot, and a powerful 2370mAh battery to power the smartphone.
Initially, the Sony Xperia SP will be available in Black and White color options but Red color variant of the device will also be offered later.
The smartphone is already claimed to be heading to China but exact date of announcement and its pricing info are still kept mum.
