T-Mobile USA has officially announced a new Sidekick phone built by Samsung. ‘Sidekick 4G’ as it is called, is an Android-based device that packs the stylish looks and that popular keyboard of the older Sidekick. Sidekick 4G continues to have those brand Sidekick features like a five-row QWERTY keyboard, “pop-tilt” display and even got dedicated function buttons (one of which is for managing multitasking, according to T-Mobile). The new updates include touchscreen with Google Android OS, 4G capability to take advantage of the T-Mobile network 4G service data speeds, Group Text (for reply-all group text conversations) and Cloud Text (cross-platform texting service).
T-Mobile Sidekick 4G run on Android 2.2 Froyo with a 1GHz A8 Hummingbird Processor, 3 MP primary camera, 3.5-inch WVGA display and with pre-loaded Samsung features like Samsung Media Hub, plus Qik video calling and DriveSmart. Specs wise, the device matches closely matches with that of Samsung Galaxy S 4G.
