Huawei and Microsoft announced a customized version of the windows Phone 8 powered Huawei Ascend W1 in Africa as a part of their 4Afrika Initiative.
In addition to Ascend P2, Huawei is reportedly planning to introduce a mini version of the smartphone called Ascend P2 Mini at Mobile World Congress 2013.
Huawei is now planning to release super slim P-Series model device packed with its upcoming octa-core Cortex A-15 processor (arriving in 2nd half of 2013) at the MWC 2013.
Ascend W1 was made official by Huawei at CES event in Las Vegas. Ascend W1 ships with Windows Phone 8 OS, 4″ WVGA display, 1.2GHz SoC, 5MP camera, microSD card slot, 1950mAh battery and more. It first hit the Chinese and Russian markets ans als planned to release in the U.S.
In addition to the low-end Windows Phone 8 smartphone, Ascend W1, Huawei is planning to introduce another WP8 handset with a 6.1-inch display at MWC.
