You might already know that the South Korean manufacturer has introduced two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 with different processors. One with Samsung’s own 1.6GHz Exynos Octa-core processor and another version will include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. The company has also noted that some regions will get Exynos 8-core processor equipped S4 phones, and some regions will include Qualcomm powered S4 phones. Samsung has failed to provide exact details on which version will be heading to the United States.
Well, a Qualcomm spokesperson has revealed out that all the U.S. versions (list includes Verizon, AT&T, T-Mo, Sprint and etc.) of the Galaxy S4 handsets will ship with the Snapdragon 600 quad-core processors under the hood. Samsung has also adopted the same ideas for Galaxy S III launch last year, by offering quad-core Exynos chips running GS III in international markets and a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processors powered S III handsets in the U.S.
Qualcomm has introduced the new Snapdragon 600 chip at this year’s CES event in January. The Snapdragon 600 will include a quad-core Krait 300 CPU that offers speeds of up to 1.9GHz and a new, speedier Adreno 320 GPU. Snapdragon 600 chip provides a 40 percent performance improvement (using less power) over the yesteryear’s Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. Newly launched HTC One and LG Optimus G Pro will also ship with the same Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip clocked at 1.7GHz.
