There is no doubt that Samsung is the reigning King of Android Updates. The Korean tech giant has updated most of the Galaxy portfolio devices with the latest OS update. Late last year, Samsung released the Android 13 update to the carrier-locked Galaxy A53 5G handsets in the US. Europe and Asia based Galaxy A53s have also been upgraded to the latest Android build. Today, the carrier-unlocked variant of the Galaxy A53 5G device for the US market (SM-A536U1) is joining all of its siblings in the Android 13 and One UI 5 department, marking it as one of the last in line to get it.
The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy A53 5G brings the new firmware version A536U1UEU4BWA5. The update is also carrying January 2023 security update, which fixes more than 50 critical and moderate vulnerabilities. To recall, the Galaxy A53 with Android 12 based One UI 4.0 was launched in March 2022
As usual, One UI 5.0 update brings new stackable widgets, simpler app icons, refined notifications, and a new pop-up call display. There is a way to extract text from images, new security and privacy dashboard, video wallpapers, Routines to trigger a sequence of actions based on activities, a new way to edit the lock screen, integrated filters in the camera, and many more additions and new changes.
The update is currently being pushed out to the Galaxy A53 5G handsets on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, Nextech, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile networks. The update may take some time to hit your handsets. Meanwhile, you can try your luck to grab the update by heading to Settings >> Software update and clicking on the Download and install button.
