Verizon finally took the wraps off a pair of new Droid-branded devices. Verizon has officially announced that it will carry the recently launched Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition tablets as Motorola Droid XYBOARD 10.1 and Motorola Droid XYBOARD 8.2 respectively. The devices will be shipped with Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS onboard and will be eventually upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich soon. The Droid XYBOARD tablets will run on Verizon’s super fast 4G LTE network. Motorola Droid XYBOARD 10.1 has been specifically made for business customers and it comes with high-precision stylus, while Droid Xyboard 8.2 is a media-centric tablet.

The Motorola Droid XYBOARD 10.1 will cost $529.99 (16GB), $629.99 (32GB), and $729.99 (64GB). The 8.2-inch Motorola Droid Xyboard will be available to purchase for $429.99 (16GB) and 32GB for $529.99. Buyers should sign a 2-year agreement and $30-a-month data plan with Verizon. Verizon has also announced that the users will get $100 off on any XYBOARD tablet with the purchase of a Motorola Droid RAZR with a new 2-year carrier contract.
Verizon says that the two Motorola Droid XYBOARD tablets will be available online and in its retail stores later this month. But, there is no official word yet on the exact release dates.
