Verizon was to launch an OTA update 1.13.605.7 for HTC Thunderbolt to increase the 3G connectivity and GPS performance.last week later the carrier delayed the update indefinitely with ‘coming soon’ tag for unknown reasons. Looks like Verizon has just started to roll out a new OTA software update which is an improved version of the software update 1.13.605.7. This is clearly visible as the latest OTA software update is around 35MB in size where as the original update (as was announced two weeks back) was around 22MB.
Starting this morning, to download the update for your HTC Thunderbolt handset on Verizon, go to Menu –> Settings –> About Phone–> Software Update–> and tap ‘Check New’ and you will be prompted to install a 35MB file, click OK to install the update. Ideally, it should take less than few minutes for the update to install completely on your phone. Unfortunately, Verizon’s support page isn’t giving any up-to-date information as of now, but still many users have reportedly installed the update already, though we are yet to receive information about the 3G connectivity and GPS performance after the update.
