At Consumer Electronics Show 2011, ViewSonic has announced its first ever smartphone ViewSonic Viewpad 4. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo, while the update to Gingerbread is to come at a later time. ViewSonic has said that the new device is in fact, a ‘tablet’ – but since it offers “full cell phone functionality ” with voice and data capabilities running on Froyo, and has a 4.1 inch WVGA display, it should be treated as a smartphone.
Specifications wise, ViewPad 4 is featuring a 1GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, which enables you to record 720p HD video with its 5Megapixels camera and playback support, also the video streaming through its mini-HDMI port and having VGA video-calling front facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, stereo Bluetooth, ambient light and proximity sensors capabilities, 512MB RAM, 2GB onboard storage and so on.
Price & Availability
ViesSonic ViewPad 4 will be go on sale in the mid of year 2011 and the pricing confirmations will entirely depend on the carriers.
