Enthusiasm is brewing as the much-anticipated Vivo X Flip is rumored to launch this month alongside the X Fold 2 and Pad 2 in China. As the brand’s debut of a clamshell folding phone, all eyes are on the device. A few days ago, a leaked live image of the Vivo X Flip emerged, but now more official images have surfaced on Weibo, offering a more comprehensive view of the phone. The pictures feature Chinese actress Wang Ziwen (also known as Ava Wang) posing with the forthcoming Vivo X Flip, generating even more excitement for its release.
Leaked images of the upcoming Vivo X Flip have surfaced on Weibo, showcasing its large display, dual camera island, and a purple version with an embossed diamond-pattern design. These new images provide a closer look at the device and add to the growing anticipation for its release.
For those who have wished for a clamshell phone with a cover display orientation opposite to that of the Oppo Find N2 Flip, the upcoming Vivo X Flip is here to grant that wish. The OEM has now abandoned all secrecy surrounding its first-generation clamshell design, which had previously been suspected to resemble its fellow BBK Electronics subsidiary OPPO’s offering.
According to the leaked images on Weibo, the cover screen of the Vivo X Flip extends almost to the edges with a subtle curvature at the corners. The circular camera module houses two cameras and the Zeiss logo, while the LED flash is located on the right side. Interestingly, unlike the current trend of smartphones featuring flat sides, the X Flip is sticking to the traditional design with slightly curved edges on all sides.
It is difficult to accurately gauge the size of the Vivo X Flip based on the images of the actress holding it. However, rumors suggest that the phone will feature a 6.8-inch foldable screen on the inside, which is comparable in size to the Find N2 Flip and slightly larger than the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Moto Razr 2022. It is slightly smaller than the Huawei P50 Pocket, which features a 7-inch screen.
The manufacturer has suggested that the X Flip boasts a high-refresh-rate primary display, with the best battery life that Vivo could provide, as well as lightning-fast flash charging that could be completed by the time the user finishes their coffee.
Vivo’s first clamshell folding phone, the X Flip, is set to come in three striking color options, including “Diamond Black,” “Silk Gold,” and “Diamond Purple.” While the phone’s marketing tactics have been questionable (such as the “super makeup mirror” camera mode), reports indicate that it will be a powerful device, combining beauty and strength with its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The X Flip is expected to be a viable alternative to the upcoming X Fold 2, setting the stage for an exciting showdown in the foldable phone market.
Based on the above images that have surfaced, we have been able to get a glimpse of the Vivo X Flip. However, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Vivo to get more concrete details on the device. It’s anticipated that the company will reveal more information about its first clamshell foldable phone in the coming days, so stay tuned for updates.
