The Vivo X Fold 2 will be getting some welcome tweaks to its shape with an impressive set of specs, according to a new leak, with the same source also predicting about launching details of both the X fold 2 and X Flip.
That source is the often reliable Digital Chat Station from Weibo. Let’s talk about the Vivo X Fold 2display rumor first. The phone will have a 2K resolution foldable display, with an under-display fingerprint scanner. The outer display also has the same kind of fingerprint under scanner underneath it for the security.
The camera specs in this leak also reveal that X Fold 2 is also said to feature a Sony IMX866 main camera with support for optical image stabilization (OIS). DCS claimed that the X Fold 2 will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which promises a boost in both performance and power management over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 found inside the previous gen X Fold that was released in earlier this year.
DCS also said that X Fold 2 will be lightweight compared to its predecessor. To recall, both the X Fold and X Fold+ weighed about 311 grams. The Oppo Find N2 foldable phone that debuted earlier this month in China weighs around 235 grams.
DCS also revealed that the Chinese brand is planning to launch the Vivo X Fold 2 and the Vivo X Flip in the first half of 2023. That’s not too far off, but make sure to check back regularly for the latest rumors before then.
