Along with the Xiaomi 13, and Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Xiaomi 13 Lite also started its global journey today. The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are the company’s full-on flagships, while the Xiaomi 13 Lite is marked as mid-ranger. The phone brings a 120Hz OLED screen, a 50MP main camera and a really aggressive price tag.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite is a follow-up to the 12 Lite from last year and inherited the 6.55” AMOLED display with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The panel adds the same refresh rate at 120Hz, 1000 nits (peak) brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and it uses PWM dimming at 1,920Hz.
The major upgrade is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which is a mid-range chi, but it offers 20% more GPU and 30% more AI performance compared to the Snapdragon 778G inside the last year’s 12 Lite.
There’s a 32MP selfie camera with FoV of 100°, joined by an 8MP depth sensor on the front in an island-style camera hole in the display. On the back, the Xiaomi 13 Lite has a 50MP f/1.8 main camera (Sony IMX766 – 1/1.56″ sensor), an 8MP ultrawide f/1.4 camera (IMX709 – 1/4″) with 119° field of view and a 2MP macro camera.
Xiaomi 12 Lite brings a 4,500 mAh (that’s 200mAh over the 12 Lite) battery with support for 67W fast charging, and the adapter is in the box. Xiaomi claims that the device can be charged 100% in 40 minutes.
Remaining specs are Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC support, Snapdragon X62 modem for 5G support. It runs outdated Android 12-based MIUI 14 out of the box. It comes with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, but it doesn’t have a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone has an IP53 rating for resistance against dust and splashes of water.
